Bimota BSB team issues Joe Talbot update after Oulton Park test crash

Following his crash at the Oulton Park BSB test, the AJN Steelstock Bimota BSB team has issued an update on the condition of Joe Talbot.
Talbot crashed in the second session of the second day of the test (22 April) at the first corner. A report from the British Superbike Championship afterwards confirmed that Talbot had been taken to hospital after initial assessments at the circuit medical centre regarding possible concussion and back pain.
On Wednesday night (22 April), the FS-3 team issued an update on Talbot’s condition, saying he was being kept in hospital overnight.
“Joe [Talbot] has undergone scans and assessments, and is being kept under observation in Stoke Hospital overnight for now, but initial reports are all very positive,” the FS-3 Bimota team wrote in an update posted to Instagram.
“Darren [Fry, FS-3 co-founder] spent time with Joe in the medical centre at the track, and at Stoke Hospital, and on behalf of all the team would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff involved who have been simply incredible.”
Talbot had set his best time of the test in the session in which he crashed. It put him 16th overall at the end of the test, which was his second as a BSB rider after making the step up from Supersport.
The Bimota team didn’t run again on Wednesday after Talbot’s crash, which brought out the red flags in session two.
His teammate, Max Cook, didn’t ride after the session restarted, nor in the third session. Cook had topped the previous test at Donington Park, but was seventh at Oulton Park and 1.2 seconds off the pace of Kyle Ryde at the top, Ryde setting his benchmark time in the final session.
BSB returns to Oulton Park on 3–5 May for the opening round of 2026.
